How to become power cranker
« on: May 02, 2005, 05:40:40 AM »
I've been bowling for 20 years now.  Progressed from stroker, to tweenner, to "thumbless cranker".  I'm a consistent 180's average bowler and know i have the talent & game to become a 200+ avg. bowler. Seem to have hit a road block now, on dry/burnt lanes can't throw it hard enough consistantly thumbless to keep in the pocket.   When i use my thumb, i can get speed but can't get the revs on the ball, i guess cause i can't cup my wrist.  I don't Like wrist supports at all, don't like to be restricted.  How do i adjust my approach, timing, to crank the ball using my thumb?  I use 15lb. equipment. Do i need to workout upper body strength? Any tips/suggestions from other power crankers are welcome, thanks
