does it really matter...
« on: January 20, 2004, 06:20:58 AM »
After bowling in my Tuesday night league for the past 5 weeks, I have decided that on most house wall shots, it doesn't really matter what ball you use (old or new).  The shot I regularly see is borderline great-wall-of-china stuff and I have realized that it doesn't matter what ball I throw I can score well.

Over the last 5 weeks, I have rotated thru 4 different strike balls (AMF Evolution Reactive, Track Freak Out, Sapphire Zone, and original El Nino) and every ball seems to find the pocket without problem.  The only thing keeping series around 660's is my damn troubles with the 4 pin .

Has anyone else noticed this in their leagues?  I am starting to think for the most part, people that regularly bowl on a THS really do not need to go out and buy the latest hook-in-a-box ball to score better.

I would say that because my house shot is not a great wall, when I do sub in other houses that have THS I am able to consistently hit 650 or better. Concentrating on one-two boards in my home house helps me to bowl better when given more area. Some nights on a wall the El Nino works better, other times the Vortex. Monday night I stayed with the Vortex all night and while others switched to weaker pearl resins I just moved into the flood and swung it to the dry...
