Does this sound about right?
« on: January 29, 2005, 04:00:33 AM »
My PAP that is.  I finally remembered today in league to check my track.  I did it at the end of the match, so i just put tape on the ring next to my thumb, near my fingers and somewhere in the middle (aligned with the track).  The track was about 3/8" from my thumb, and about 1 1/8" from my fingers.  Since i don't have a spinner/wax pencil (i heard that you can trace the track line and do some stuff with a spinner, etc), i remember i heard that you measure 6 3/4" from the track through the center of the grip or something.  So i did that, marked it, and then tried to measure from my grip to the point.  It came out to be about 5" over, and 5/8" up.  Does this sound about right, judging by where the track was from my thumb/fingers?  Or was this less accurate method (compared to spinner) off?

If your track is 3/8" from your thumbhole, you ain't anywhere close to a 5" PAP!
Not unless your track is 2-3" from your fingers, which might put the "up" distance at 1.5" or more!!!

Next time do the normal thing:
take a plastic or urethane ball drilled very weak, sand it, play the 4th arrow in the oil and measure the FIRST oil ring, or better yet have REAL, conscientious pro shop measure the first oil ring.

Huh?  Would it be further or closer then (from 5")?

Hmm, and I find myself more confused than before.  Bobmatt, you'll have to explain this stuff to me on AIM.
