The house that i bowl in has 2 floors, bottom floor is synthetic, top floor is wood. Now all of the leagues that are sanctioned and tournaments are played on the wood lanes . Which isn't a problem. The lanes are usually heavy to medium oil, however the synthethic lanes are usually bone dry , not a drop of oil on them. But heres the thing, they will not let you practice at all on the wood lanes. Even when theres not a tournament or league play nobody is allowed to touch those lanes.
So everybody is forced to practice on the synthetic dry lanes.
Tell me if you think i'm right or wrong, i get frustrated with the house cause they never ever put oil on synthetic lanes at all, and because they wont let us practice on the wood lanes we bowl in the league.
My whole point is i want to improve in the league, and i want to learn how to make the proper adjustments on that slick wood surface and how can i achieve that if i cant get on those lanes.
I understand that there wood and they prolly don't want them to get worn out or warped, but every night theres 4 lanes not bowled on they could set those aside for league bowlers to get some practice on the conditions they bowl on.
To go from bone dry synthethic to oily wood i think is a big difference, a few guys complain about it, but manager just walks away doesn't say much.
So what do you guys think, am i wrong for complaining? do you think its right what they do? or does your house do the same thing ?
