Hey guys, since I started my new summer league I've been hopelessly lost. I am now sporting a nice 167 average, from my old 215.
What's been killing me is the transition breakdown of the lanes. My old house was a wood house. Typically I started outside, and then worked my way inside as the ball started creeping up high.
My new house is all synthetics. First thing I noticed is a much flatter and heavier shot. All my light oil stuff was rendered useless. Currently, my initial shot is good through the first game. I usually start with my particle Champ. However, as time progresses my ball is not finishing like in the first game. I've tried moving inside a bit, and then I begin leaving 10 pins. I've tried moving outside, and either again the ball doesn't finish, or pointing it to the pocket and missing left is disaster splits or brookies. (actually went 3 in a row brooklyn
)
Is transition different based on synthetics vs. wood? I've been working very hard at dropping my ball speed down and moving back on the approach some to give my ball more time to creep up to the pocket. I might be hitting carrydown, but doubtful I am hitting burnout since I am still throwing the pins around quite a bit. Thats not to say I don't leave the odd weak 10, which is usually release based. Anyone provide any insights?
