Replacing an X-Factor Deuce
« on: April 26, 2007, 09:03:14 PM »
I'm thinking of replacing my X-Factor Deuce and was wondering if anyone here had any thoughts on this? I'm tempted to stick with a storm as I just want a straight replacement but I'll consider anything.
At the minute my Deuce fits between my tropical and my big time pearl at the lower end of my arsenal.

Is it OOB 800 grit? The Deuce should not fall between these balls, rather be stronger than the Big Time Pearl? Sounds fishy... Did you try to de-oil the ball and/or refresh the surface?

But as a go-between, I'd consider a Jolt Solid (effectively the same cover as the Deuce, just a weaker core), maybe even a Jolt Particle for more grip on oily lanes or a Thunderstruck Solid, either glossy OOB or with some scuffing to the surface, if need be. Just my 2 cents on this...

The Deuce at the minute has a 1000 finish with a high polish on it

Ah! Then I'd say, in comparable strength, a Thunderstruck Solid OOB, but the Pearl or the new T-Road might also be an option. Additionally, a Jolt Solid with polish and a slightly stronger drill than the Deuce could also be an option, since it has the same cover material.

Thanks Dizzy, I like the look of the T'struck Pearl actually, with a slightly longer pin it might be the boy...
