Just Won Big Money For League!!!

I just got back from the year banquet and won $147.00!!! I know this might not seem much to you all, but I was just surprised.  I was expecting a trophy or something.  Anyone else win money for their leagues?

I am going to the Poconos too for the PA State Championships.  The prize fund there is $250,000!  I hope I win some of that too.  Bowling rules!!!

Well I got $147 for being on the team to win both the first and second half of the season.  Part of the $147 was also for having high average.  I guess my league is poor.  I thought it was cool though.  I never won this much money bowling before.

We run a real competitive scratch triples league. 635 team max. Pay $24/night. We started the league 3 years ago with 6 teams. This year we had 22 teams and we will have the entire hourse next year - 32 teams. Great format....each week first two games are position, then you switch to another pair and bowl 2 more games on the regular schedule. Lots of brackets, elimination board and last game pots. If you are a lefty you could leave there a rich man...LOL. First place paid $2,700 a man. My team finished 18th because we had the only lefty in the world who can't average 200 in our house and we got $260 a man. You can only get out what you are willing to put in.

$27 isn't bad with those kind of payouts. How many teams are in the league? How much does last place get?

33 teams.  Last 5 teams get $100 a man

What they do different is pay more to bowl each week!  You paid $14 per week and one of the high dollar leagues I have bowled in was $21 per week, plus they got a couple of 'sponsors' to throw in like $500 a piece to add to the prize fund..  

We paid $11 per week on friday night league and we finished 6th place and took home $137 a piece.. Plus $35 for High Series..  

And if you are not happy with the payout.. it is not so much about finding a new league as it is to be more active in your current league.  Be there for the initial meeting and bring up a higher per week fee for the higher prize fund..  then formulate your own prize fund to be submitted for the league to VOTE on..  There should be a vote on several differnt formats for the prize fund, not just here it is, like it or not!  So!  Have fun! But if you don't like the prize fund, submit your own for approval.  I did!

I believe we guaranteed 200/man for last place. As I said, we finished 18th out of 22 and got $265/man.
