Down and In Ball for Dry Conditions

Is there a good ball that would work straight up the boards on a dry lane?

Brunswick's Urethane Avalanche is IMHO a good ball, as well as Storm's Natural or VBPs Urethane Ogre.

If you do not like urethane, Motiv's RX1 pearl is IMO a good choice, a Slingshot from Brunswick.

The Motiv Recon pearl is excellent on scorched lanes.I use mine whenever I go in to ractice and the lanes are toast.

I threw a new Storm Tropical Breeze at a couple different Demo Day events.  This is the ball that is replacing the basic Tropical Storm (3-piece type resin ball).  I have never thrown a more tame resin ball in all of my life.  The lanes at both demo days were short oil and every ball I threw besides the Naturals and the Breeze took a left turn as soon as they left the oil.  With the Breeze I was able to move over and play straight up about 8 board and get a consistent move to the pocket, it really surprised me.

If it were me, I would go with either the Avalanche Urethane or the Tropical Breeze (pink, because it smells like birthday cake).

Pink Panther. 2000 polished drilled for length.

An older piece, but also a good option: Brunswick's Power Groove DryR - a very mild pearl reactive with a high RG. IMO even weaker/more mellow than the RX1 Pearl, but out of production. But it is IMHO a ball to consider.

I just ordered a rx1 silver on friday hoping it will be a good dry lane ball with a little recovery.

The Silver Recon for me was a little poppy on the backend.  A good piece, but wasn't too great on the very dry conditions.  So far I am loving the Jewel with the same drilling as the Recon on the dry stuff.  Still a very smooth rolling piece on those conditions where most were throwing plastic.  But remember everyone throws the ball different, so what may work for us may not be the same reaction for you.
