Good shipping deal

It's only for express which I doubt people will use for bowling balls, but it might be great if you need to ship gifts home for the holidays.

very nice. Love fedex. Ships faster then UPS and cost less. Just the way I like it.

Hate FedEx.  Screwed me out of a $70 customs fee they failed to collect.  Cancelled my account immediately and have not used them in over 4 yrs.

Nice coupon though...

I only ever shipped one ball that needed a customs fee and I believe I used UPS.  How did you find out they failed to collect the fee?  I didn't know you could follow up on such things.

Was actually an eBay item that I insured during shipping.  About two weeks after delivery, I got a letter in the mail from FedEx stating that I had a balance on my account and it was due in x number of days.  This went back and forth with customer service for several weeks as they pointed to some obscure fine print clause that stated in the event FedEx does not collect fees, its responsibility of shipper.  I questioned 1) What was their procedure for collecting customs fees and 2) Why they would deliver without collecting fees.  They had no answer for either question and I assume they either don't ask or leave it to the descretion of the driver.  My stance was that I paid for International delivery service and expected FedEx to do their job.
Their customer service refused to waive the fee or even split.  I told them if they persued this that I would cancel my account and never ship again.  Two days later I had a final notice in the mail with late charges... I called back, put on my credit card, immediately closed my shipping account and have not used since.  I now use UPS, DHL, or USPS.  Even through work, I explicitly request anything but FedEx.

I agree with the ship faster & cost less part, but the people that work at Fed-Ex here locally where I live, have attitude and personality problems along with a chip on their shoulders, so rather than put up with that, I usually pay a bit more and ship UPS.
