Here is a question for all.

I just came back from our State Tournament here in WA.  
I was appalled at the lack of no standards for a dress code for the Team Event.
  I just wrote a letter to my District voicing my concerns  on this.

Does the dress code exsist in your State/Local Tournament??

CA Women's State requires a collared shirt, walking shorts, skort, skirt, or slacks.  The shirt can be sleevless as long as it has a collar.

The tournament dress codes here in France are very strict.

No Shorts.
No Jeans.
No hats.
Entrants obliged to wear a bowling shirt(with the name of their club on the back).

The thing is, everyone complies and nobody complains.

I'd bet money than 95% of those kids walked in with 4/5 of the latest bowling balls....

I live in washington but have never bowled the state tournament.  I would have thought they'd have a dress code...guess not.

Most of our local tournaments do not have a dress code that I am aware of and about half the bowlers look like they just came out of a potato field.  

The events are inside in a controlled environment I don’t understand why people have problem dressing decently.

The one that amazes me is the USBC nationals. There are always complaints about their dress code. Virtually all the bowlers will spend hundreds of dollars to travel and enter the tournament. Have a thousand in equipment with them but balk at spending 60 bucks for a decent pair of slacks and a shirt.

But the last few weddings and funerals I’ve been too I have been amazed at that the casual dress at these events.

Georgia: Dress Code

Old jeans overalls only, cutoff at the knees. Shirt, bra (for ladies or moobies), and confederate flag baseball hat optional.  You must bring a spit pouch if you will be chewing tobacco during the tournament.  Spirit award will be assigned to teams showing pride by wearing matching greasy handkerchiefs in rear pocket.

Just kidding about the Joe-Jah dress code btw, couldn't resist the jab though, it's amazing what you see in league down here

I have been to many tournaments and realized one thing, no one cares about how the participants are dressed as long as they are getting people in there.

Most people that I talk to say the dress codes are a farce. Personally I think that dress cosed are a sign of respect. Respect yourself and respect the game.

no shorts (unless cleared ahead of time for medical or physical reasons)
no hats
shirts must have sleeves (i.e no tank tops or muscle shirts)

other than that, its fair game.  doesn't leave much.  lol

bigk975j8 has mentioned Texas, but it really does depend on the tournament.

City tournament for our area says pants, no shorts and no hats.  It doesn't specifically require collared shirts as many wear t-shirts.  But tank tops are not allowed.  

When we bowled States last year, I believe it was the same.

Two weekends ago I bowled with my son in a Youth/Adult tournament and shorts were allowed, but it does say dress shorts.  Tanks and hats were not allowed.

Don't have all the details in front of me, but for your tally, Pennsylvania has a dress code for its state tournament.  Same stuff that's been posted:  No sleeveless shirts, or ragged shorts/pants, sweats, etc.

no jeans or jean shorts, no gym shorts or sweats no tank top and all shirts have to have a sleeve.

Shorts should come to your knees.
Women can wear sleeveless as long as it is a nice shirt no cut offs.
