OK, so I need some help from my fellow bowlers.  I have been asked by our league secretary to come up with some ideas to improve our sweeper event and also try to include the higher average bowlers.

As is stands now, everyone gets to bowl in the sweeper but there is also a side pot like most leagues.  The side pot is a 3 game (9 pin no-tap) handicap event.  We pay out high single series as well as high doubles series.  Each bowler chooses bowlers in this league to bowl with and then each person puts in $1.00 and then the partner matches the $1.00.  This is a 4 man league with 40 teams so the sweeper is the big event.  Where my problem lies is that most of the higher average bowlers don’t get into the sweeper since it’s a handicap tournament.  So I need some ideas or suggestions that other leagues may use to make if fair for everyone to get into.
