Literal Gouges
« on: March 23, 2004, 08:21:26 AM »
I bowled ten games tonight. During my first couple of lines I noticed gouges taken out of my ball. I left a ten pin twice during my first couple of lines and missed them both to the right. The ball ended up in the gutter and it must have hit some protrusion. It looks like a tiger scratched the you know what out of my ball in two spots. I'm thoroughly upset. Is this normal and has this ever happened to anyone else? It's quite brutal looking.

I'm throwing a Storm X Factor Reloaded. Balls do not get much better. I think any ball would get torn apart if it hit whatever my ball hit.

I have had this problem with the center I bowl at right now.  The lanes are awful, the oil that is laid down is in puddles and the boards are not flush.  Every week I get new knicks and cuts.  The owner really doesn't know bowling and he really doesn't care what happens to ppls equipment.  So on that note, I hope the center you bowl at has a decent owner and just tell him or her what happened.  As said above they should be nice enough to help u out and if not take it as a lesson and not use good equipment there.  Hope everything works out

That's why I don't throw my strike ball at right side spares.

take it to their pro shop and make sure they fix it.  i had my hot wire for less than a day, and the ball got stuck in the ball return...it came back with a 1 inch wide, 1/4 inch deep hole right next to my thumb hole.  i refused to leave teh place until they agreed to fix it.  when it was fixed, whoever sanded down the plug ended up making it flat instead of round.  i ended up taking it to my regular driller, and he finally fixed it...so make sure they fix it properly and dont leave till they do!  good luck.

Good point, mumzie. It's too bad that I thought of that after I did it.
