Drinking and resurfacing bowling balls
« on: April 08, 2008, 05:25:46 AM »
My Resurgence had about 25 games on it and it was about that time to get oil out of it and hit it with 1000 abralon.  While I was extracting oil from my Resurgence, I decided to resurface an older ball.  I am a bud lite drinker but the girlfriend had bought Corona(not lite).  Corona beers have more kick, I finished with the older ball after a few Corona's later.
Most of the oil was out of the Resurgence so I hit it with the abralon pad and put it away. My ball looked shinier but I thought nothing of it.  Got ready for work the next morning, loaded my balls in my truck but I decided to look at the abralon pad before I left.  I used the 4000 one instead of the 1000.  Well my bowling showed it.  157 first game because I just couldn't line up.  Not enough hook(bite) in heavier oil but too much hook when I sent it out to the drier boards.  I finally settled down the last game and managed a 233.

Moral of this story... don't drink and resurface balls.  Ahhh who am I kidding, i'll drink again when I resurface.

Sounds like the pro shop guy that resurfaced my Epic Battle with a 4000 pad instead of 1000.

MVA,  Those abralon pads can get a little tricky to read after awhile.  Thats one someone told me to get a black magic marker, and mark the pads.

This will allow you, to be able to continue to drink while resurfacing your ball.

No need to thank me

This is exactly what I am doing now after using a 1k and a 4k pad at the same time to resurface a ball while drinking.
