Kegel Flex Lane Machine

My main house is getting a new one and I am so looking forward to it......now only if I could get an answer to what the pattern will be.

Anyone bowl in a house that uses this machine?  Thoughts?

they can do whatever they like, or when bowlers complain, they can put down a pattern which bowlers can all score....it doesn't matter really..

it's a cool looking machine, high tech one too. but if the house doesn't utilize different patterns for leagues throughout the season, I think it's a waste of money.

Is there anyway of getting a good feel how long the pattern is by watching going up and down the lanes?

The house I bowl in has been using the Kegel Flex machine for several months now.  They changed the house shot to a 41ft THS pattern, 12:1 ratio, 24ml of oil.  Averages in the house are down about 10% since they switched to the Flex machine.

The machine simply does what it's programmed to do.   Most of the time the house will use Kegel Ice, or Fire, or both to condition the lanes.  This can be a noticeable change depending on what the bowlers are used to. 

Kegel extends the normal warranty period on the machine when their products are used exclusively, and when the proprietor spends $40,000 on the machine the extra warranty time can be valuable.   Our house used the warranty less than two weeks into their new Flex due to a drive motor going bad. 

To those who are unhappy with their house pattern, their are dozens (at least) that can be downloaded easily into the machine.  It's not the machine's fault as it's merely doing what it's programmed to do...

notclay is correct. I can program the machine to run a 5 foot pattern or a 55 foot pattern. I can program it to put no oil outside 10 on both sides, 1 side, or flat from gutter to gutter. There is no one singular pattern that the machine will lay out and if there is, there will be differences between the environment the bowling alley is in, lane topography, and of course, the type of oil used. Thus, someone could take a singular machine, put down a pattern in one house, take that machine to a different house, use the same pattern, same oil, and the results could be drastically different.

Thanks....My guess is that the pattern will be 38ft and the site shows two different conditions for AMF lanes with the Flex machine....Hard, Alcatraz and Medium, Taj Mahal

Those are just two of the plug and play patterns that Kegel has come up with.  You can download any of the Kegel created patterns into the machine or the person programming the machine can create their own.  The possibilities are endless.

I just don't get why people who ask for help suddenly close eyes and ears when the response isn't what they might want to hear.

If that is directed toward me, I have read and understand all the reply's 100%. I mentioned the two patterns only because this house is the type that will ask Kegel for a suggestion and just go with it and since Kegel has just two listed for 38ft, (hearing that this was the length from the old machine) I am guessing that one of the two will be used but I also know that it could be anything.

Knowing what the pattern will really do little for my physical game, as I am not good enough, but sometime people on here and other sites are nice enough to help with a proper ball match up if they know your specs and the pattern that you bowl on.
