for those cranker, how can you continue to maintain your scoring when the head is too try and the backend is spotty carry-down ? this situation is quite offen happen in my old-wood bad dressing lane, I want to have other idea than straight-up my line and play down-in ... as this is my only option.

For the true cranker, you'd already be around the 5th of 6th arrow. You rarely run out of head oil there unless there are a bunch of crankers on the same pair, or if an evil lefhander migrates right of their 5 board and gets out a high load particle ball.

More speed or more axis rotation also usually go hand in hand with crankers.

drag the ball. Works amazinly well. Throw an end over end and not so much side turn.

I used a XXL last night played with 5th arrow and numbers of 3-6-9-10, if too much speed, the ball cannot handle the spotty carry-down, the only success is end over end roll with little axis rotation and let the ball hook from around 7-9 board, but unluckly that the pin set had problem with the 2 pin offset to 1 pin.

the problem with that is the the head oil is gone out there and there is no way you can get it right without firing it, and then you get no recovery/have no accuracy. I like to try to play the twig hard when there is little oil, seems to work pretty well because there is usually oil there.

Also, if you get a ton of axis rotation and a ton of sideroll, this also helps get the ball down the lane farther, almost throwing the ball like the helicopter bowlers do.

I've been fighting these conditions all year in my local house. Old wood in bad condition with light oil. The heads burn up and the backends are not real strong. I have tried everthing that I am capbable of. 6 or 7 different balls played anywhere from the gutter to 5th arrow with different speed and different releases. The only thing that has worked for me is speed and LOFT. No matter what combinations of ball, line and release I try, if I don't loft the ball, it will never make it to the breakpoint. I don't really enjoy playing this way, but it looks like I'm stuck with it for now.

For me what has worked is a particle pearl with the pin at 5 1/4 inches, over the middle finger, cg swung outside of the ring finger to the + side, I give myself 3/4 finger weight and 3/4 + side weight. then I use a little loft and speed and the ball gets through the heads well. The drilling gives a ton of backend for me and the particle part of the particle pearl gives me the recovery I need in moderate carrydown. This is all I have found to work, I first did this with a AMF Ninja RPM but the particle pearls work so much better in my opinion.

Loft. I am not a cranker and I still practice that (over the gutter cap). You must practice that to become better.

I myself have been running into this condition in almost ever house ive been in and i cannot throw the way that i like to which is swing it and bring it. It really over under in there and i see that the only people scoring on that shot are the no handers up the boards so i decide to develop a no handed shot. i break the rist back use the strongest polshied ball i have right now which is my classic zone and i just stay behind it and it has been doing well for me plus it makes my game that much more versatile. give it a try it might take some time to get used to but well worth uit in the long run.

I am switching to the right side it so much easier over there!!!ange][/orange]

loft as far as possible, or switch to a complete side roll ( not to friendly with the wrist though)
