I just bowled a six game tourny last night and after the first game the heads were gone and seemed like all the oil was at the end. I threw every ball i own The Power Diesel. Solid Blade and a Raging Red Fuze They are all polished and drilled for length They all seemed to roll out right away. When I did hit the pocket the ball was dead. Please let me know what you guys do when you come across this kind of lane.

Something that I have done that seems to work......is trying to loft the ball over the heads if possible with a ball designed for a strong reaction. That way, the ball will not get burnt up in the heads and have enough energy left for a more desired reaction and hitting ability. Usually, when the lanes get like that, it is all about spare making anyway. But, try practicing lofting the ball and see if that works.

Anytime lane conditions are tough or spotty, it never hurts to straighten everything out and try to take the conditions out of play as much as possible. This might necessitate (sometimes, not always) switching to urethane or plastic equipment, depending on the ball. It depends on how you throw the ball. With burnt heads and the three balls you mention, they'd all roll out on me regardless of drill or polish - unless I took TwoHand's advice and lofted the ball 15 feet out onto the lane or totally killed the ball.
