« on: August 29, 2008, 08:56:23 AM »
Hello all, first time poster long time reader.

I am looking for a light oil ball, I am currently eyeing a Storm Tropical Storm. I just need some other suggestions to see whats out there.

Thanks

Do you mean light oil in the heads with fresh backends or are you talking about toasty heads with carrydown?  And how much hand have you got?

tropical storm is a pretty strong ball.  I couldn't use mine for dry lanes, I ended up using my black widow pearl.  I have purchased a Razyr and going to give that a try

I would have a look at the roto grip neptune or the pluto polished up, those would be two good choices.

The two sites below still show availability of the Slate Blue Gargoyle, the allstarbowling site is considerably less expensive.  The SBG is a good dry lane ball.  So is the Power Groove Dry/R.  --  JohnP

I've actually had good luck with that environment using an older U2 and playing inside.  Polishing the ball gave me just enough length to get through the heads with enough ooomph to make enough of a move on the fallback to leave me in good shape if I didn't carry the pocket.
