I love the Rigid vacs from Home Depot. You need to buy the most expensive R2D2 looking vac. Well worth it. Super Quiet and larger capacity. Then you MUST use the vacuum bags you can buy for fine dust. Your shop and your vac with be virtually dust free.. Or you can build a vac box that your vac sits in to contain the dust.

Hope this helps.  beans

Beans,

I have one contained in a box now and use the dust free bags and still have problems with the seal on my vac. If I ran one outside my shop I would have to run it about 100 feet to have it out of public traffic. Just looking for some options. maybe just need a new one with a better seal.

I had a little problem with the seal and just took the foam that is around the col w/dots and ran them around the top of the can!. Works for me!

I use the Fein 9-55-13 vacuum its 58 decibels loud which is pretty quiet and strong to.  You can get the dust free bags and it makes it easy to clean up.  The bags are costly but sure make it easy.

I use a Rigid one from Home Depot as well. A washable filter and specially the bags are a MUST. There is no need to be inhaling the ball dust that gets in the air if not using a bag and good filter.
