Hey everyone,
I'm currently looking for a dry lane ball. By dry lane, I don't mean absolutely fried, but I don't mean medium either. I want something that will get down the lane and then give a nice, continuous arc on the backend, nothing snappy. I don't care what manufacturer makes it or anything like that. I track high and I have above average revs and speed. Any help would be appreciated. So far I've been considering balls like the Columbia Scout, Storm Hit and Sonic X Pearl. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bowling is without a doubt the dumbest, most pointless, most idiotic excuse for a game that has ever been invented. So, what time are we bowling tomorrow?

i'd stay away from the storm hit line. storm produces a lot of good stuff but from what i've seen the hit is borderline spare ball movement and rarely "hit"s well. track is coming out with the dry heat and that should be a pretty good dry lane ball. the stinger low-flare pearl is another good ball for dry.

Gene,
From what you describe, you should go urethane. I have yet to find a reactive ball that will truly give you a nice smooth arc on dry lanes. Pick a used one up on this site. Heck, dig in your closet and pull out an old hammer.

Gene,
I know I have discussed Visionary equipment with you before, and I think they have an answer for you. The Slate Blue Gargoyle is the ball that I'm currently throwing for light/dry conditions, or screaming backends. It's a pearl urethane, with the gargoyle core. It gets wonderful length, but unlike the GG, it makes a nice arc to the hole. I don't find mine to be snappy at all. It allows me to stay in my comfort zone as far as where I play the lane at. I can send you a video clip of me throwing the ball so you can see how it reacts if you are interested.

Ditto on the Dyno-thane Barrage.
Simple but has tons of bang. My pro shop guy (who's on Storm staff) sells a bunch of them over the weak Storm stuff.
