Dry Lanes
« on: December 18, 2008, 02:41:52 PM »
I drilled up a Jazz to see if I could figure out third game as I have been god awful third game. And I thought it would help after bowling on fresh lanes and seeing how little it hooked. But I got to bowling tonight and I can't believe how terrible the lanes break down. I started with my Rapid Fire first game around 13 at the arrows and had a real good look shot 268. Then it slowly started to disappear. I struggled for a 188 the second game and figured third game that the Jazz would be money. Boy was I wrong.

I started around 13 with the Jazz and that went brooklyn kept moving and found the more I moved the more it hooked. I don't get how lanes can break down so fast. I ended up lofting the gutter cap still through the nose. So after bowling I bowled on the same pair and used my white dot around 12 and it was money I guess I had the answer the whole time.

I just don't know what else to do when the white dot usually won't be strong enough to carry and the Jazz is so strong I am at a loss.

Well that doesn't sound good at all.  If you want to look into a new ball for that situation, think about what goes inbetween a weak reactive and a plastic ball....Urethane

I am selling a 16 lbs. Ti/Beast on eBay right now for $6.50 +$19 shipping to the lower 48.  It would be a cheap alternative

Plastic is the answer my friend.

I just drilled up an XXXL and I use it constantly. Granted a WD won't carry as well, but never be afraid to pull the plastic ball out when the lanes are toast.

Stand right of center and make yourself take hand out until you start hitting the pocket. Revs and toasty lanes usually don't work well together.

Second that. An old Urethane Hammer is a great choice for small money - it even has a true core that takes care of some extra punch which make sit IMHO a better option than a pancake polyester piece.
