So after 3 years of not bowling, i was asked to bowl in a league. Well i figured since i've moved to a new town and nobody knows me, i'd stay on the low down. Well first week, i averaged 166, and then bowled two more times during the week. just to get back into the groove.
Well i come back tonight, and figured as long as i stayed in the 160's i'd be ok,, Well first game, i tried to bowl bad and kept on striking, it didnt matter were i threw the ball if it was outside of 12, it was basically a strike. I ended up with a 228! second game was alot of the same, but i tossed in a couple opens, but still finished with a 178, third game i had to intentionally miss easy spares and stuff, and finally got a 120, to get a 526!
I laughed cuz, If i would of half-azzed tried, i know i could of gotten an easy 650-700 series, and i havent bowled in 3 yrs!!! Plus, i laugh at how easy the lanes have become, I mean is this what it's come too??? The lanes are so easy that someone who hasnt bowled in 3 yrs, can come out after thier first week of bowling, and no matter how badly they try to bowl, they still bowl good?
I mean, i literally had from 12-5 as my area!!!! and wasnt even trying to bowl well.
I know some people will bash me for sandbagging it, but i look at it this way, i see no point in averaging 200+ anymore, i gave up my hopes for the PBA tour, way back when the exempt tour happend.
Plus I dont think anyone who takes 3 yrs off from bowling should just be able to come back and have one week of bowling in them, and end up shooting 700.
It usta be, if someone took a couple years off, the first year back was a learning season, to get back into things. Now i'm just like ok,,, I could probably average 220+ and not have to try....
