ever feel good?
« on: January 16, 2004, 07:45:35 AM »
today was a major breakthrough in my bowling career. firstly ive been bowling for about 6 months. i started my first league in August. i started out with a 131 average, months passed bowling everyday. finally after league ended on dec. 15 which my average had risen to a 145, that night all of my balls, shoes, everything was stolen out of my dads truck. i got new balls and shoes ect. and im now used to them and it was the first day of league today, my average is a 182, well actually consistantly too. now in our juniors i feel like sombody, like one of the guys, i just thought it was the coolest thing, im actually a somewhat decent, not Great bowler. anybody else have a storie like this?

I used to be a decent golfer and had to give it up due to ill health.
My misses wanted to start bowling again so i went along and after a few weeks I thought Oh well might as well try it as it should be less trouble for me than golf.(less walking)
I started last season and went almost straight into finger tip.
I joined my brothers handicap team and won high game scratch 278 and 2nd place in the league (170 av season).
Started a couple of scratch leagues. Finished bottom of the doubles first year and am about 10th in the (58 weeks)large singles. I started having some coaching at the end of the doubles league about 2/3 way through the singles
Now with a friend we are top of the scratch doubles and Im averaging about 187 ( 5th highest in the lanes)
Ive also been asked to play with the big boys in the 5 man travelling league and join the team trying to win our county cup.
As you say not a superstar, just having so much fun, long may it continue for all of us.
