How many people still use a piece of cork in their thumbhole?

I still do, on one ball, I have the wrong pitch, and I was dropping the ball, I'll get around to getting it plugged, and

won't need the cork anymore.

I remember those cork thumb inserts from back in the late 60's.  Do they even sell those anymore?

I don't know. That's why I stopped using them, I couldn't find anymore to buy, and that was YEARS ago.

Does Duke use them in the front or back?

Those that can do. Those that can't complain. Pimpin ain't easy, but it's mandatory.

Saw Duke's Prodigy which he used to win the Open with up for raffle at the Pepsi Youth in Winter Haven last weekend (each purchase of his DVD entered you in).

The cork was in the front (thumb pad side). Really thin strip, like 3/8ths of an inch I think.. possibly a half.

Master Industries, Inc. still makes the thumb grips and there may be other brands out there. Most bowling warehouses seem to have them. My pro shop does not sell a lot of them but orders a full box  for me every couple of years when I run out.  They come 100  per  full box. Norm Duke does use them and a few others but I don't remember who they are at the moment.

I still use them on the front of the thumb and I use a Ron Clifton thumb pillow on the back.  I get mine from Ace Mitchel. The only ball I do not use them on is my spare ball

Most young guys don't, but I still use them.  I didn't know Duke did, but I know Holman used them back in the day.    Not that hard to find.  90% of pro shops still have them, either Ace Mitchell or Ebonite.
