They don't pay what you pay. They get kickbacks directly from Ebonite.

Of course they're making money, small margin, but they make money on every ball.Once you add in the primium price they charge for shipping and they're actually making more than BB.com.

if it is in fact true that bowlersparadise is getting kickbacks from ebonite one more reason me not to buy ebonite products.  They were the ones pushing for floor pricing but i see that that hasnt last long just like most of their coverstocks

This coming from a guy whose company moved production to Mexico.

I smell a steaming pile of hipocrisy.

If you look back at some of jls's old topics when bowlersparadise first started offering free drilling and prices below the floor price, it's widely rumored (if you can still call it a rumor) that bowlersparadise is just a front for a distributor. Therefor the distributor could sell the ball to the website, and then turn around and sell it below the floor price, while it still being more than what the distributor payed Ebonite for the ball.

It's a smart business move for the distributor to sell more equipment, but it's unfair to other pro shops who can't come close to matching the price while maintaining a profit.

On edit: I guess it was so long ago that it's not listed on the site anymore.

Ah, I see. Shouldn't have assumed, I suppose. If you don't throw Brunswick any longer, why would you continue using the name (Just out of curiosity)?

Bowlersparadise probably used a bag deal where you buy so many bags you get  a free magic ball. If they did 5 bag deals they got 5 balls for free and sell them under cost and still make money.  This the way some of the online shops get by pricing them below cost.  I use the bag deal program to get a free ball and we sometime raffle it off for the kids league.

Dist. and BP.COM

Once upon a time.......

If a certain dist. was having big time money problems and a certain online dealer was able to "bail" him out trouble,  it might be possible that the online dealer who may have "bailed" out the dist. who was in trouble, now gets
the balls sold to him at or very near the Dist. cost!!!!!

And that may explain why a certain online dealer can sell the balls so low.

Once upon a time.......

I think it is called, "one hand washes the other"

Bowlers Paradise most probably never had this ball in stock and did not sell a single ball at $99.95.

It is a scam for publicity and to get everyone talking about Bowlers Paradise.

If you are out of sight, you are out of mind.

jls you are barking up the wrong tree.<<<<<<<  "I don't think so Tim"

Sir
Go back 3-5 years ago,  a certain dist. was in trouble til he received a "bailout".
