Greater Ozarks Open
« on: March 24, 2009, 02:08:31 AM »
Guys I am looking for anybody that can give their account of the tournament this year. I am going there this weekend and just wanted some idea of what people were scoring up there, what they were throwing, and how the lanes were playing for them. Thanks in advance.

Me and my group just got back from it this past weekend. We took about 6 teams with us. Last year not one person could hit Sunshine, but everybody whacked singles and doubles at Enterprise. This year was the complete opposite. We bowled the 4:30 pm squad at Sunsine. There was a lot of hold the middle of the lane and hook right. I used an original Storm Shift that is clean through the fronts but has really good midlane read and decent backend. Big thing was if you missed, miss left because there was plenty hold to guide the ball to the pocket. Most people started around 3rd to 4th arrow and just moved in. I shot 705, while a couple other people in our group shot low 700's with the high of our group being around 760.  At Enterprise we bowled the 8:00 am squad. In practice everybody played just about everywhere looking for a line. They lanes provided places to play but you had to make really good shots to hit the pocket. The transition was where everybody struggled though. A couple of us had high games of 220s and 230s but once the look you had went away, it seemed like nobody could find the right adjustment to make and normal adjustments would not work. I'm pretty sure no one in our group shot over 1150 for singles and doubles and there were past Team USA members with us and collegiate All-Americans as well.
