Any of you rightys do this?

I was just wondering if any of you guys take out sanded down balls and throw them down the left part of the lane to move the lefty's oil.  Even if you don't move the oil very much, you get in their head.

Ragnar,

Why don't you just take an Iron Bar and club them in the leg before they even start bowling?

I could be mistaken, but he was only joking. Of course, you could be too.

But yeah, I think its stupid if someone does this. If you can't beat me playing your own game and not trying to sabotage mine, you're obviously desperate to win. Sportsmanship, ever hear of it?

Yep! I was joking. This brings up a question to all who oppose this tactic. There are professionals out there doing this in match play on Tour.

What do you think about them doing it?

First off I don't do this sort of thing. I have enough trouble trying to line up myself. However....

Someone show me where it states in the rule book that this is wrong. A bowler can throw a ball in practice anywhere they choose. If he is a right hander and chooses to throw on the left side, thats within the rules.  As long as the ball is legal.

Is this okay when its a right hander versus right hander? It has been stated here in a post some time ago where a professional admitted to doing this in match play. His opponent was striking and he wasn't. What did he do? He intentionally changed balls and screwed up his opponents line and proceeded to win the match.

I agree that this not a good tactic but until the rules change it is now apart of the game and something bowlers have contend with.
