Whats the deal?
« on: July 13, 2005, 11:53:46 AM »
That is, what's the best find you've ever had on equipment? For me, today I picked up an Ebonite Predator Jungle Green, for $1.99 plus tax at the Value Village. The surface was pretty bad looking and the grips were shot, but the span was just about right for me, so I scooped it up for $2.17 (sales tax). The ball looked like heck (the grips were chewed up and the surface was not pretty. So I brought it straight over to my local pro shop, where I had it resurfaced and grips replaced. The driller weighed it, and its a 14 lb (I usually use 16, but I can't complain). She charged my only for grips (employee at the alley), which were $10 ($10.88 after tax). Sure, its got a small scar or two, but they're out of my track area Of course the best value, as usual, is the on lane instruction.

So I've got a total of $13.05 invested in this ball, not too bad , especially after I threw a 240 with it.

So, who else has a similar story?

I got a NIB C300 Formula off ebay a few weeks ago for under 40 shipped but I haven't drilled it yet.  I'm currently on the lookout for other ebay deals.

a FREE Brusnwick Zone Classic used by Patrick Gerard in the PBA Dallas Open last year. After he won his match with Machuga, I ask him (jokingly) to give me the ball he had in his hand and he did just that, he handed me the ball!!

I then had him sign it in sliver sharpie signifying his first TV round ever and I instantly had a piece of Canadian memorabilia..

If they only made a ball that would carry that da_n 7 pin (and I am right handed!!)

I bought a used Brunswick Contact Zone 3 years ago on Ebay for $12.50 and shipping was $15.  It arrived at my house about 1 hour before my league started.  All I needed was new finger grips which were $8.  I threw my personal best game of 278 with it.

It does not matter what type of shot you throw, it's the results on the scoresheet that counts.
