Having problems with thumb tape
« on: October 16, 2009, 02:06:50 AM »
I've been having problems getting out of my thumb for the last couple weeks. I bought some Red Vise Hada tape online. I put it on different areas of the thumb and it comes off too easily and I still can't get out of it. Of course I took out tape etc. I thought that tape would stay on better.

When ever I use the Hada tape I really have to pull to get it off my thumb. Maybe you should wipe your thumb with rubbing alcohol before putting the tape on. Might help it to stick better.

I have used the Blue on occasion and never had a problem of it coming off, actually after bowling it was pretty hard to peal it off, than had to use a solution to remove the gum residue left on my skin.

Maybe its cause I chose the Red?? I don't get it. I might squeeze too much. Lately I can't get out of it clean and my thumb is getting bigger too.

If you buy the roll then it comes off easy.
Buy the pre-cut 40 one and those are pretty sticky.
and if those falls off then your hand sweat too much.

I have no problems with blue or red.Blue is faster and thinner. Red is thick and slightly slower. This tape is normally, as far as I know, put ONLY on the back of the thumb to prevent wear and tear (blisters) and to ease exit from the thumb hole. I have always applied it starting at the lower edge of the thumbnail, giving it something smooth to firmly attach to. Then I apply it going down the back, NOT pulling it or stretching it, ending just on the hand side of the 2nd knuckle, where the thumb atatches to the palm. I smooth out all edges and it sticks therefor 8 - 10 games.

Be careful removing it from the paper. Try using a thumb nail. Use the edge of a knife or nail file or small screwdriver, if you don't have thumb nails long enough.
