How would my house be classified?
« on: November 25, 2008, 05:27:56 AM »
One of my "home houses" is a 36-Lane establishment with probably your average number of leagues per night/per week.

We are currently at 7-800's and 13-300's in the house since the beginning of the season, all leagues accounted for.  I'd say we were just like any other house.  We have our very good bowlers [of which I'm not] and we have some very bad bowlers [of which I sometimes am ].

So where would these 300/800 tallies classify my house?  Would it be considered "normal", "high scoring", "below average".

I'm very curious as to your houses out there.

Is the ease of the pattern estimated by the number of games over 290 or the ability to hit the pocket on errant shots wide or in from the target?

The two usually run hand in hand. More miss room leads to more 290+ games.

If you can miss wide or in and still hit the pocket, you're more likely to shoot 290 than if you have barely any area.

There must be something wrong with French bowlers or something right with American ones.

In my house this season there have been 0 300s and 0 800.

There have only been  5 300s and 1 800 in the last 6 years and three of those 300s came from members of the French National Team that came down for our international tourney.  The 800 is mine.

In league I'm at 223 ave so far this season and there is only one other person over 200 (he's at 205) and maybe 5/6 others over 190.  Our shot I would call difficult, but fair.
