Empty manufacturing Warehouses...
« on: June 14, 2020, 11:45:46 AM »
It's been stewing in my head...

Do you guys think the San Antonio plant or even hopkinsville may eventually reopen under a new name?

900 did it when c300 was sold way back when...

I think bowling is in a different spot going forward and it's not likely but 900 was big regionally...

Thoughts?

While not directly answer you question because I don’t have an answer, I do know certain things are happening with Ebonite’s old testing facility in Hopkinsville.

Yeah I saw CTD got the testing part with the lanes.

I'm just curious if storm will sell the plant in SA or what.

When 900 bought the old C300 plant, it had alot of equipment left behind.
wasn't to hard to get up back up and running.
Hopkinsville is basically empty, just a building.
Th investment for equipment alone would be staggering

There's an answer.

So Brunswick made sure no one could just come in and be a competitor. Got it.

Makes sense...

From what I have heard Ebonite actually sent stuff to Brunswick

Brunswick bought everything except the buildings and the properties.
Everything else either went to Mexico or sold, or junked I suppose

Makes even more sense, perhaps the equipment being released will have more EBI charactistics that. We originally thought.

Very interesting.

I heard there is a “Hopkinsville” line in the Mexico plant.
The equipment is one thing, the chemicals Hopkinsville used for the covers, can that be replicated outside the USA?
That’s the challenge.
I’m not sure who all went to Brunswick, I’m sure some did, but others did not and we will see how that shakes out in the future.
I’m still a made in USA guy whenever possible so I’ll throw all the Hopkinsville equipment until it’s wore out.

IT is always fun to see when people speculate, spout off without ever verifying the information you are hearing. Gets the facts first, then you will not appear to be ignorant.

This is probably the best thread on here in the past few months.

My initial hopes were for a third coming of c300/900.
