How? - PBA Shark
« on: July 24, 2008, 06:17:57 AM »
I know that for attacking the PBA Shark you have to move left (not necessarily but the most recommended) and not send the ball right of certain board because it's out of bounds (this for sure because the ball won't return to the pocket from this OOB area). Now I was going to ask which kind of ball, surface prep. and drilling do you prefer, but besides asking this, from my current arsenal, which ball would you use (or none of this is OK for this kind of pattern and I should drill a new one), med-high speed, revs, and track (closer to med), thanks in advance:

1. Brunswick Absolute Inferno, pin above fingers, no xhole
2. Brunswick RedZone1, pin above and to the right of ring finger, PSA just right of thumb, flare increasing xhole (below and to the right of PAP)
3. Brunswick RedZone2, pin above fingers, PSA right of thumb, no xhole
4. Brunswick UltraZone, just like RedZone2
5. LaneMasters BigBang, just like the Absolute, xhole at PAP
6. Lane1 Enriched Uranium, pin below fingers, xhole to the right of thumb to avoid flaring over middle finger

Big Bang would probably be a good ball to start out with, because of it having a medium particle load, especially if it is a fresh shark pattern. After pattern breaksdown, I'd say switch to Ultra Zone, also depending on how many bowlers are on pair of lanes, carrydown starts to occur, you could switch back to the Big Bang, or go to RedZone1 to battle the carrydown.
