I only had to hunt for 10 minutes until I found this in the misc. section. Bowling and Liz Johnson deserve more credit and PR than that!!!

This could be an historic turning point for our sport and it looks like nobody cares!!

It takes years of ineffective PR by the PBA to create such apathy

Rev-O, I checked the site earlier in the day and it was right on the front page.

Liz just made Sportscenter's Top Plays! Great to see her accomplishment getting the coverage it deserves. Best of luck to her tomorrow on the show.

You guys will jump on me for saying this but........What were you expecting?  Come on now, let's think about it.  Bowling is unpopular to the public (and NO you can't argue that, it's true), and so no matter WHAT happens in it, there won't be some huge "talk about it for a month" story on it.  I hate to say it, but bowling on TV is the equivalent of the ping-pong matches on TV.  If the first ever woman was to get on the ping-pong finals or whatever, would you expect a giant story everywhere about it?  No.  ANd most likely, you (assuming you aren't into ping-pong) wouldn't care........at all.  And sadly, this is how bowling is too.

Like it's been said it has already, the story will be on a show or two on sportscenter, but I seriously doubt there will be some huge movement putting bowling the spotlight like I've seen some peopel thinking/expecting.....

I hope she wins though, that would still be awesome for us bowlers.  Though, I do want to see Jaros/Wes bowl next year.

SportsCenter just had the short segment with Liz as one of the Saturday Stars...same footage as was shown last night on the Top10.

I'll say that I am glad for Liz. She was in our center last Saturday to bowl with the kids in an adult/junior doubles tourney. She is truly a class act and I hope she does well today.

Flipped over to ESPNews (we get four different ESPN's on our cable) and they had Liz advancing in their long-term box next to the ticker...methinks there will be more coverage of today's finals on tonight's SportsCenter.

If the PBA/ESPN had played this one right, this could have been an overnight Annika topper. Oh, well. It's only bowling.

I live in New York City. One of our main papers, the New York Daily News, had Liz as the headline story in the "sportswire" section of the sports section.
