It's on at 11:00 Central, 12:00 Eastern. What's so tough about a one-hour time zone conversion, sheesh!
The 2001 Peoria Open was the first show of the "new" PBA, after the PBA was bought by the Microsofties. They hired a well-regarded blues singer named Koko Taylor to sing the national anthem, live, at the beginning of the show.
For whatever reason (some people thought she was drunk or high on something), Ms. Taylor proceeded to forget the words to the song, and otherwise butcher the national anthem. The PBA later apologized for the fiasco.
This was also the first week that the PBA used an oil pattern approximating an ABC sport-compliant shot. The scores were so low, and the matches so boring (to most, at least), that the PBA dumped sport shots after only three weeks, and went with a higher-scoring shot.
Enter PDW and the crotch chops, and the rest is history, as they say.
