We have some good bowlers in our town that just like THE hot ball.
Arsenals are all really good oilers or medium heavy oilers.
We really don't have a ton of oil volume but some length to our patterns.
Everyone uses weaker pins and lots of polish or wax but it is interesting to see some of these guys bowl and one gets a good feel for what works and what doesn't!
Anyway one guys "Arsenal" is a Mayhem, Total Annhilation, and a Vertigo. You get my drift. A good lefty averaging right about 200 in a house there may not have been a lefty 200 average for about 3 years! These guys go off and average 220 in tourney's where the shot is cake!
Interesting to note I saw the Vertigo and Total this day and noted both balls looked interchangeable in that head clearance backend and move was very close.
REally only difference noted was the TA had the mass bias out about 3 inches from the thumb and the Vertigo had mass bias on positive side of thumb but touching. Vertigo had a touch less midlane(drilling) and looked awesome this particular eve! TA looked very good except for move was slightly early(mass bias).
Also on the pair was an Ultimate inferno, naturally polished up also. This may have been the slight favorite of all, which I didn't expect! But this was a rigthty now throwing this!
On the adjoining pair was one of my favorite lefties getting a real good look with an ICON original. Yes THIS lefty.
In comparison I must say that all these non particle particles, Activator, Enhanced reactive what ever which move like particles but cleaner in heads look really great.
One could see my ICON wanting to grab earlier than all 3 but still just clearing enough to strike. Despite a slightly grabbier look I had maybe the best look! Or tied with the Vertigo this day!
Conclusion. These new balls(newer coverstock) look great on the lanes, all of them. If you can't bowl with one of these you probably stink or just need a little more polish! On the ball!
