This is ESPN we are talking about. This is exactly why I am glad Fox airs them now. Since FOX took over the telecasts are a million times better. With the fact several well known employees left and the rumors surrounding ESPN, I barely watch any channel bearing the ESPN name anymore.
Oh, I agree.. I have had my own beefs with ESPN over the past 25 years, especially for coverage of sports I helped in negotiating that they really screwed everyone over on, in lieu of things you could barely call "sports". For example, myself and a lot of people helped in coordinating coverage of the Australian Football League (Aussie Rules Football) back in the mid 90s after the channel they mainly aired on, Prime Sports (the same network that carried a lot of the LPBT), went under. The AFL coughed up a lot of money for coverage in the US...
The best ESPN gave them was a 3:30am or 4:30am time slot on a Saturday morning for a 1-hour highlights show on 2-week time delay, and even with that, they pre-empted it (without warning) for either competitive Cheerleading, the "Worlds Strongest Man" competition, or competitive log chopping. And this being the "Total Sports Network", and the "world wide leader in sports".
Funnily enough, the AFL went to Fox in the late 1990s, and now we have live coverage of matches as they happen. ESPN is a joke; but the only way that they were able to keep the PBA as long as they had is because of tradition with ABC.
