Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to check out the new linds velco pss shoes first hand and what they thought of them? Looking to get a new pair for the upcoming fall/winter leagues and will probably get one of the abs series of shoes but thought I should check these out first. Thanks.

That's a new one on me.  I even went to the Linds website and they didn't mention anything new coming out.  You aren't talking about the P.B.S. shoes that Linds manufactured by any chance?  The P.B.S. shoes have the Velcro inserts (cleats) like the Linds Exxxtras.....in fact, P.B.S. came out with the cleat style shoe long before Linds got to manufacture the shoes for themselves.  P.B.S. had the patent on them, and Linds started selling the shoes under their name once the P.B.S. patent expired.

Anyway, you got my curiousity up with the talk about Linds coming out with something new.  I've seen their "Wedge" shoes, and I'll stick with the Classic line myself.

Well, so much for Linds website being anywhere near current.  Yes, I spotted them at Bowlers Choice, and they are darn proud of them, especially considering that Bowlers Choice has the best prices on Linds shoes!   And, I found the ad in Bowlers Journal too (page 51).

As for the traction sole (Kevlar), they are already using this design on the Exxxtra shoes too.  The PSS deal (proportional slide sole) looks like they abandoned the idea of a separate slide sole and slide heel, and merged everything together.  Then they vary the texture of the slide sole and braking heel, as well as the amount of each type of surface on the 3 slide pads.  Something tells me that there will likely be more than 3 slide options for these shoes before all is said and done, because 3 only doesn't seem to make the slide characteristics of the shoes very flexible, but it appears that the 3 soles will cover a pretty wide variety of conditions.  Yes, they maximized the square inches of contact patch of the slide shoe by alleviating the gap between the slide sole and braking heel.

One plus for the shoes is that they don't have individual cleats hanging down that might possibly catch a seam on synthetic approaches.  However, a bigger drawback that I see is a lack of variety of slide/braking combos.....it looks like the 3 pads they have cover a wide range of conditions, but you make a major jump when changing out pads....they probably need some additional pads to soften up the wide steps of changing out pads.

Oh well, I guess that I'm through speculating about the Linds PSS shoes.  For the time being, I'll stick with my Customs and Exxxtras.
