Eteamz?
« on: June 15, 2012, 07:24:51 PM »
I seem to recall from some of the older posters that this site originated from another called eteamz?   If so, is this the same site?:

http://www.eteamz.com/bowling/boards/

It seems that that site kind of died out around 2002 and just recently got some traffic back.
I noticed that in the past there was a LuckyLefty and a MrTeach3 posting there and I know they posted here.  If nothing else, that eteamz site could be good reference site for some who have older equipment.

Edited to clarify statement - addition in red.

The site looks different than I remember, but it's been a long time since I visited.  All of the old time Ballreviews members that I know migrated from eteamz.  I lurked for about a year on eteamz before finally joining.  I'll have to see if I still have the password laying around.  Could it still be active?

Sorry Luckylefty, I meant that you had previously been posting on that site, which is what led me to believe that it was the forerunner of this site.   I saw quite a few names that I recognised from the early days of this site.  You, MrTeach3, Plamor, etc.  It looks like the site died out quite suddenly, then the site was revived but the posters were no longer there, mostly admin type of posts.

I would be curious to learn the history of that site if anyone knows?

Strider, did you find/try your old password?  Results?

What was the reason for leaving eteamz?  I somehow had the impression that this site was evolved from the eteamz site but finding that the eteamz site still exists disspells that idea.  Do you know any of the history of eteamz and this site?

Scott Scriver use to be the owner operator toward the end of Eteamz.  Scott must not have completely closed the Eteamz site or someone else purchased the site, but most of us on Eteamz transferred to Ballreviews when Scott opened this site.

If I am wrong, I know I will be corrected.

Hadn't had a chance to look yet - beer finishing day - first time kegging.

From my memory, I had the impression that eteamz was closing down and Ballreviews was the replacement.  That's why so many people joined Ballreviews at one time.  I had no idea that eteamz was still running.

Just put the keg in the fridge and firing up the grill for some steaks.  I'll try to look for the password after dinner.

Thanks, Nicanor and Strider for that info.  I was able to use some of that to find an interesting post announcing the start of this site on 31 Mar 01:

Bingo! That's what I recall also. I had thought that ETEAMZ became Ballreviews.com

They may hyave purged inactive accounts after a while.  I couldn't find my log in information, but tried every old email account I ever used in the "reset your password" page.

I never knew the Eteamz site existed, but then again back then, I didn't pursue bowling sites that hard

I started posting on Ball Reviews from the beginning, but never used the other site.

The Eteamz to this site portion of the conversation is correct. This site started out as JUST ballreviews even before that. It was grey black and white. It would have the most recent added equipment on the homepage and the most recent posted reviews. Then a forum was started----it was messy with this type of layout:

RE: RE: RE: POST
(that would continue for the length of the post)
Sorry dont know the technical term for that type of message board. Right when it started to get cleaned up and more readable, eteamz became the holder of the site. There was a lot of boohooing about the eteamz stuff and apparently some issues with some of the people involved which I stayed out of. Amazing to think that I've been visiting this site in 1 form or another for over 10 years. I wrote a review on the Fire Power shortly after it came out----and it came out in 1999. So that gives a perspective on time.

I am still around MI.  Just don't have the time to post anymore. That eteamz site was a lot of fun and games.
