house hacks, i got them this time!
« on: November 22, 2008, 09:53:31 PM »
our league hold a tournament in another center which put a very interesting pattern (sport) and only the ones who better adapted survived.

our house shot is not easy, because of light and short oil, but still there are hacks. nothing of that happened yesterday.

tournament shot, 42 feet, very good amount of oil, unless going very straight, right of 10 board is a byebye. it was interesting to see how many ppl goes "wtf?"

i started deeper than my comfortable line playing very tight and very slow, with a raid, 600 grit and lane master polish. the bad side is, i missed lots of 10s conversion rate was about only 60-70%. pretty much averaged 195-200 for 10 games of qualifying.

i started to think that being strict with myself is a bad idea cuz on the house shot it was not paying off. now, im happy that all my practice and strictness paid off (gotta work on the corner spares)

little rant: on the final match, left lane got me badly, first was pocket ringing 10, then pocket 7-10, then pocket 9, strike, pocket ringing 10. i pretty much gave up after leaving the pocket 9 cuz my opponent was too strong.

i hope i can have this kind of chance again, to kick some house hack's BUTT!

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.

I'm lost. Did you kick the house hack's butt, or did he kick yours.??
Your post seems to say that you ended up losing.

The last Michigan Majors tournament I bowled put out pretty much the same pattern you mentioned.  Long oil, HUGE OOB on the outside.  Had to play really straight, but as I have learned is that once a long oil pattern starts to break down (on the right side only) it opens up big time, and gives people the ability to bring it back.

I shot 257, 209, 199, 223, 201, 205 in my 6 games and was the cut after 4.  Game 5 and 6 the cut score jumped by 30 pins each game.

I noticed a lot of guys struggling, but as the pattern opened up, a lot of the normal good players took advantage and scored well.

Single pin spares are critical. "Strikes for show, spares for dough" is rarely an over statement. It sounds like you still bowled well, but get that spare game online for a better chance at success!  Good luck and bowl well.
