I'm excited - Frames software
« on: March 25, 2004, 09:26:30 PM »
Well, after reading all the discussions, and hearing all about WRW and Hugh Miller using the frames software, I went out and got myself a PDA and the software.

I'm really excited about using it for the remainder of the season. I think it'll be an eye opening experience.

You will love Frames!!!  The only thing it requires is a little discipline, to remember after each frame to enter your results from that frame. Also, be careful to uncheck the "pocket" box when you get a sloppy strike, as that box seems to be checked as the default. (Of course, knowing what a great bowler you are, you NEVER get sloppy strikes.)

I have a Palm M515 on which I use Frames to record the games.

Also, I use a program called "Gone Bowling" on my computer to record week by week statistics for each league. Gone bowling provides some nice graphs in color to see what's going on with your game. Gone Bowling also allows Frame by Frame scoring, if you activate it but you have to re-enter the data from Frames.

Good Luck with your new toy!

I have been using frames for 3 months. I think it is great. Where did you get the software Gone Bowling?

Tim Winkfein sells Gone Bowlin' at:

Note that there is NO g at the end of Gonebowlin.  I spelled it incorrectly in my original reply to Mumzie's post.

Is there a way to enter comments on the full version?  I've been using the demo for a few games and that's one feature I'd like to see and can't seem to find...

Nolster  when you add new scores there is a "weeks Notes" place where you can add comments if you like. Don't  know if that is what you are talking about or not.

Buzzhead - goes to show if you pick up those 10 pins you would be in the 190's.

I have been using frames as well.  Too bad I just broke the crystal on my Palm.  Sending it back to have it repaired.  Should be back in a week.

It would probably use up too much memory, but I'd like to be able to enter comments on a frame level - to explain adjustments, ball switches, etc...

I think the next version that is due
out this summer will have the feature
in it that we are all hunting. (notes
for each frame) I would also like to
see a few different boxes for high pocket,
Flush Pocket, light pocket. also the ability
to breakdown your games by Series and also by
scores over 150, 175, 200, 225, 250, so it would show
you how many games were above the lowest score you entered.
