Can't speak for others, but my original Inferno has never had been resurfaced, and it wasn't until recently that I have noticed a major drop off in performance.
I've had it for about a year, maybe 300+ games, and I always cleaned it after bowling.
If you bowl on wood then I suppose you bowling balls won't last as long.
Will have it resurfaced next time I go to the shop.
