Exemption - Who dont you want to make it?
« on: March 15, 2004, 07:51:12 AM »
Bryon Smith. I cant stand to watch him on tv, he annoys me, the way he bowls annoys me, the way he acts annoys me, everything about him annoys me. I hope he misses out and someone like tim mack or randy pederson gets in.

Opinions?

good luck and high scoring

For me it is Traber. Nothing personal, he may be a great guy. He just does not present the image I think we need to move forward. He is a stereo typical bowler, or the image we have tried to get rid of. Have not met him yet, so he may be great to bowl with. If we want to be considered athletes, at least for now, we need to field what the marketing guru's think athleted look like. RIght or wrong.

Does anybody think Randy Pederson is going to make it? I hope so.

Amletto Monacelli! I bowled on the same pair as him in a pro-am. He has the personality of a cold toilet seat!

Well, you guys better get used to Shafer and Monacelli because they are both exempt for next season. If I was to pick a guy that I would not want to make the cut to next season it would be Traber because his attitude when he's on TV sucks.

As long as Eugene McCune doesn't make it, I'll be happy.  Traber's fun to watch though, lmao.  Mr. Jelly Donut.  He needs to wear a bra next time he makes the show . .

I met Amleto at a Track seminar, and he seemed very personable.  I wouldn't miss seeing Bryon Smith next year.

I want the bowlers who are short of talent for the tour to fail to make the top 50.  There are a lot of them who have hung on for years rather than get on with their lives.

Say what you want. Traber has game. He has won before and could again.

traber is terrible.  i want to see the younger players with talent make it and start a career on the tour, rather than have a guy like traber come on and look awkward and throw a straight line to the pocket.  he is not what the sport needs to represent it.  the week he made the show i almost decided not to watch.  i hope randy and del ballard get in and traber comes in 50th and misses.  and if he does somehow make it, hes going to lose every match anyway.

I didn't want DD to make it.  I had hopes that Parker wouldn't make it but thanks to the laneman, it looks like he's in.

First, for the yo-yo's who said they didn't want Shafer and Scroggins to make it: in case you failed to notice they are exempt through winning titles this year.  It's not rocket science.  They will be in the exempt field next year whether or not your feeble personae want them to be.

I have to put my vote with the masses, though.  Dave "Waddles" Traber really does not need another opportunity to embarrass bowling by making another TV show next year.  Then again, the US Open and Masters are open field events, so I suppose he could sneak back into our TV sets sooner rather than later.  Let's hope he takes some of the comments here to heart and buys (and uses) a treadmill.

Bryon Smith
Eugene "My Week" McCune
Jason Hurd
Ricky Ward

After 2/3 of the initial 18 qualifying games, the following guys are in a heap 'a trouble:

Chris Hayden
Dave Traber
Ritchie Allen
Ricky Ward
Steve Hoskins
Jeff Lizzi
Ronnie Russell
Brian Kretzer
Eugene McCune

Without a miraculous 6 game series tomorrow, they'll all probably be at the Tour Trials.
