Expanding my arsenal
« on: April 11, 2016, 11:27:28 AM »
195 avg in a THS league, 16-17mph ball speed with medium revs. PAP is 4" over 1/2” up.

I currently have a DV8 Brutal Nightmare (4x4x2, 2000 abralon), DV8 Misfit (4x4x2, 2000 polished), and a plastic spare ball. Ican usually handle my THS, but struggle in tournaments or bowling in a second shift league or practicing after leagues. I want to expand my arsenal to have less gap between my equipment and am looking for suggestions.

I have used my current setup for 3/seasons, climbing from 170-190-195 over that time. I bowled my first 2 tournaments this year, and realized that I need more equipment if I want to be prepared for either heavier or burnt conditions.

I was considering adding a Storm Alpha Crux and Storm Tropical Breeze (or maybe pitch Blue). Am I on the right track or will I be overlapping my current setup?

Side note: I own a ball spinner and have no issue changing surface on a ball

Thanks!

I can only guess that you are struggling with heavier patterns. If you've enjoyed your DV8's, I would highly recommend the Grudge for heavy oil.

I tend to have trouble in heavy oil and also really dry.
Is there any advantage to sticking with the same manufacturer? The Grudge looks similar to the Crux as far as I can tell, I'll definitely look into it
