Lets say you are at league on night and in the first game of league you shoot a 300. After shooting the 300, what would you expect to shoot or what would be acceptable to shoot for series on the night??
Personally, if I ever shoot a 300 in my first game, I better be going 750+. And even that would be a bit of a disappointment. I would find it a bit more acceptable to go 780+ for the night. I mean, who wants to look at a score sheet and see 300-225-225. Thats a 75 pin drop. I dunno, call me greedy, but I better be shooting 240's for the rest of the night.

Well I for one would feel as if the perfect one was wasted if I shot a 3 and then followed it up with something that was horrible, nonetheless, shoot bad the rest of the night. I would be happy to achieve the feat but less happy to not stay consistent enough to score all 3 games!!

If I shoot 300 I have always been able to shoot 700 with it.
750 may be asking a bit much particularly if it is your first. Coming down off the adrenalin high really can take its toll.
I have heard people say a guy choked on shooting 800 after he started with 558 for the first two and then they “only†shoot 220. 240+ games don’t just grow on trees and with the way lanes can change to keep that kind of carry for 3 games is not always easy.

You want to talk about a let down, I have a friend who went 300-300-190 for a 790.

Oooh, that sucks.
