Yeah, I wonder where I got that from......hmmmmmm

Measurements are:

overall height:  38"
ea shelf is 29" long and 8 1/2" wide
the shelves are cut with a 45* angle so the ball doesn't sit on the edge of the board

Great job! I bought two of them from EBONITE .. each holds 12 balls (four layers) but the wood is a lot thinner (weaker). I see you also put a STAIN on it .. makes it look real good .. again .. nice job!

Yeah, I have two of the Ebonite ones also, and you're right, the wood was already splitting as I was screwing it together.  I have them upright against a dresser as I'm not sure I trust them full standing by themselves.  But I agree, very nice job on yours.

Thanks guys, it didn't take but a few days.  My grandfather cut the wood, he has a table saw so that was easy.  I sanded the wood with two seperate grits, one course and one fine.  I used 3 screws in each end of each shelf.  They are countersunk and then wood putty for extra strength.  I also used some liquid nails at the joints.  Then, of course it was stained with Minwax stain.

It didn't cost anymore than the Ebonite version, yeah it holds three less balls but it is fair more durable.

Me and my grandfather are actually going to build one, when he figures out which lumber we can use, and which he has saved for something else. Should be nice looking, hes damm handy!

Hey, it's nice looking, but how do you load that in your car and drive it to the bowling alley............(lol)

Seriously, I didn't know "Norm" from Yankee Workshop was a bowler---nice job ----  staining it kind of puts the finishing touches on it!!!!!

Here is a list of needed materials:

2--2 x 10's--36" long
6--2 x 4's--29" long
4--2 x 2's--10" long
2--2 x 4's--12" long
liquid nails
stain of choice
crap load of screws(I probably used 30+ screws)
woody putty to put over the top of the screws
sandpaper to finish the wood
