Baton Rouge is a very nice area.  I lived down there from 1996-1998. You have 3 centers in town - Circle, Don Carters and Metro.  All of the bowling centers are on or just off of Airline Highway.  Very easy to find. Carters is walled up. Several big sets over there.  Circle was a fairly tough shot when I was down there.  But, it's probably a little easier now from some of the averages I've seen.  Didn't bowl all that much at Metro.  But, it was fairly easy too.  Synthetics at Metro and Circle.  DC is wood.  All of the centers are well kept. Two big leagues in town, Monday nights at Carters - Rolling in the Dough (I think) and Thursday at Circle (Industrial League).  Steve Cross runs the proshop at Carters and John Amadee runs the shop at Circle.  Both are very good drillers.  John is on Hammer pro shop staff.  Plenty of tournaments in Baton Rouge and the surrounding area.  The Baton Rouge hdcp tournaments are run 4 times a year and draw a huge following.  People are extremely nice down there.  Best of luck with your move.

I lived in Baton Rouge for a summer. Don Carter has the worst lanes, but it seem to have the most people.  Circle bowl has nice lanes and I like Metro the best, but it was kinda out of the way compared to DC and Circle. I bowl mostly at DC only because of league discounts. But all my work is done at Circle bowl, the pro shop guy (John) is really great, I highly recommend him.

If this ever happen: At DC the lane are so bad that your ball may get "knicked", whatever you do don't let them fix it, even though they free for free. They do a really bad job, it's better paying a few bucks for a job well done.
