Made the 7-10 tonight!

With my trusty AMF Xtreme...after a string of 5 ten pins in a row i left a 7-10 in the hole...and then proceded to rifle it at the 10 pin bringing it back out and taking the 7 out clean in the air...unbelievable feeling!

Anyone else have 7-10 stories??

Awesome, i've done it in practice and have seen once in a tourny were a high school team won because the kid made the 7-10!

A friend of mine picked it last year.  His backswing was SUPER high which is not something he normally does.  Long and strong will do it.

The way that I know how to do it is to look at the curtain.  Behind the pins you will see a bar that holds up the curtain in the back.  Most of the time, this bar will be tilted to one side.  Whichever side is lower is the pin you want to shoot for.  e.g. if the lower side is on the left, you will aim for the 7 pin.  This is the only way to get the (7) pin to bounce off the bar and come back into the other (10) pin.  You need to hit the very outside edge of the pin you are shooting for to get the angle right.

I was practicing with a friend one afternoon and we had been talking about the mental aspect of bowling. What he was mentioning to me was to never give up no matter what happens out on the lanes after a shot. So, we were bowling and talking and he leaves a 7-10. We stopped and he started telling me how it's important to let bad breaks like that not bother you. He continued to say that all you should focus on is making a good shot, the results will come. So he proceeded to tell me that he was going to pick it up. Sure enough, he did. He kicked the 7 pin out and it flew across the deck, bounced once, and took out the 10 pin. Outragous!! And to this day I remember that day and the lesson I learned. That was a fun day. First and only time I've seen on picked up live.

I did it about two months ago...it was a great feeling...my 4th pocket split of the night, so I whipped my Rock Pearl at it and caught the 10 just right to bounce it out of the back and into the 7.

Best part:

Two of my teammates thought there was no hope, so they weren't watching.

Picked up the 7-10 in the 10th to stay in the match during a stair step format, I'm assuming it rattled him and he opened to give me the game.  To be honest I can't remember what happened the next game but I know I lost.  Not like it matters

congrats on the pickup...here's my 7-10 story....a buddy and me are bowling...preparing for nationals, and go figure, he leaves it.  He goes to throw at it, backs off the approach, and says "give me a dollar if i make it?"...i say "i'll double it if you cover".  Of course, he converts it, and i owe him $2...good time nonetheless
