Favorite old and new balls with a high rg and low diff.
« on: March 03, 2017, 12:50:36 AM »
Hi.  I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what their favorite old and new balls are that has a high rg and low differential.  I am looking for something that can get through burnt heads and has a little backend.  Thanks.

I personally try out my Hy-Road Pearl but if even that's giving me a bad look, then I move to the Ride.

The new Track Kinetic will fit this very well.

The Brunswick Fire Pearl Quantum or the Brunswick Fanatic would be good choices as far as current line balls. Other choices could be the Radical Rack Attack Cherry Pearl or the DV8 Outcast for discontinued balls.

 Visionary Blue/Green Centaur.

Best ball for that I ever had.

They don't make them anymore, but ask around. Some of the guys have them, and MIGHT let go of one.

Very low flare, and pretty tame cover too.

My favorite is the Roto Grip Hectic. My biggest arsenal struggle was to find the ball to use during game 3 of league or on the burn at tournaments, and the Hectic has been a proven winner for me with its pearl coverstock, high RG, and especially the low diff that made it angular yet forgiving.

I have a roto grip venus pin down that has been a fantastic light/dry/spare ball. I still have to take the hand out for ten pins but the ball is very smooth and still carries very good for a lite oil piece from back in the day. I highly recommend it if you can score one. 2.61/.028
The harder I try the harder they fall

Ride, Scream, and Shout have been some of my favorites in this description. The Ride I have drilled about 2 inches from my PAP, woeking very well on hooking conditions. The Scream got more use on burned heads for me when needing a smoother shape downlane than balls like the Hy-Road Pearl. The Shout I had a very strong layout, p3 weight hole, and surface on it to use on fresh conditions.

My three most favorite pieces are:

1. A pin-up, RG Venus, which is extremely mild but carries well, nonetheless.
   RG=2.61 and Diff=.028
2. A pin-down, Brunswick Strike King. RG=2.58 and Diff=.028
3. A stacked, AZO Fantasy-X Super Carbon, with a motion hole. RG=2.77 and     Diff=.062

The AZO was always a perplexing piece to me. It acted just like a spare ball OOB. Did multiple surface changes and it still acted like a mildly hooking spare ball with zero carry! Finally added a motion hole to it and it became an ultimate weapon. Naturally pushes cleanly through any heads, but has substantial downland pop!
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

There is no substitute for the Tropical red/black hybrid.  If you are looking for push and controlled semi-flippy move on the backend on higher friction surfaces, this is the one.

I took mine to 4000 abralon, drilled pin 4" from axis above the fingers, no hole.  It REALLY excels on wood surfaces.  My high friction setup is Pitch Black, Tropical and iQ Tour.
