Another righty-lefty question
« on: September 08, 2009, 06:05:22 AM »
Hey, I'm bowling two leagues lefthanded this year, but I want to sub in another league righthanded, can I do that?  Is it one hand all year for all leagues or just one hand all year PER league?

Well, in a league I know you have to have a team captains meeting to OK the hand switching, been there done that, just didn't know about a different league altogether.  Thanks!

Different leagues is fine. You just have to make sure if you bowl in a tournament that you declare which ave you are going to use.

2 different sanction cards, stating the difference, ONLY because the name is the same. All entries to tournaments, as far as I know, have to state the difference, using the different USBC ID numbers.

For all intents and purposes, these are 2 different bowlers.

This is not a serious question but if you did use both hands as stated above and have two different cards explaining the difference could you enter a tournament twice? Once using your right hand, and then again using your left hand? If so lets say you move on and could it be a possibility to bowl yourself? I know it sounds stupid, but always wondered what would happen.

Doesn't matter.  USBC rule book has a FAQ along these lines and you use the highest book average no matter what hand they choose to use in the tournament.
