While there is a business implication in maintaining an image, I believe most companies would rather the common bowler think of them as a complete company, rather than a single ball reaction company. As I stated before, no company can stay in business if they actually did make a single reaction.
This doesn''t mean that most companies don''t go in cycles at times, reading a trend in the public''s perception at those times. Like Storm''s current cycle of go long balls. Like Brunswick''s previous cycle of early rolling balls. But I still believe these are just temporary, good business practice for a certain period of time, in order to meet a perceived need.
Funny you should mention Storm as a skid/flip company, because my some of my favorite balls were Storm balls BUT they were early rolling and even reacting for the amount of oil they handled: Blue Hot Flame, Bolt Pro, Tour Power, Razor Wire, Lightning, ThunderFlash Pro.
