It is a little dark but you look like your letting go on the up swing. now it is possible that you are relaxed but that much loft....

that type of release where the thumb comes out behind the ankle and rolls off the fingers on the upswing was the 80's urethane release. cranker like revs with a strokers release.

kid,

here is link that may help. Ron C's new tip talks about this. HE know more than I do so take his advice over anything I say.

I use to have a powerful release in the Urethane days. that was an advantage. I took 10 years off and this new( to me) game was killing me. I experienced so much over under that I would string 5 strike and then string 2 or 3 splits.
all that power was useless in the modern game on wall shots. now softer at the release, but still firm, gets the job done much better. I am still learning this new game. I have moved into to that 200 avg area but next year I fully expect to be in the 210 to 220 range on a THS. and It's all in the release.

How can you guys tell what his fingers are doing, when I can't even see anything because it's so dark?

BK, you should tape it at Frazer, since they actually have light there.  Not to mention real oil that actually goes on your ball.  whoa.

so basically what I have to do is bend my knees more, not bend at the waist so much, and work on coming up the back of the ball more

Yes, definitely bend more at the knees.  My coach (and you might get different answers here, but she's my coach and I listen to her) says that bowling power comes from the legs, and a good knee bend is critical for leverage, power and balance at the line to keep the ball on its intended path (along with the armswing, but that doesn't seem to be an issue with anyone here).

I like the loft what can I say? Even though its no good for my game. Some guy threw a ball into the next lane earlier today, I was laughing so hard I tripped walking off the approach and fell on my face.
